RMI embeds Nextreaming NexTV software in PMP system-on-a-chip

Multimedia processor company RMI and media player software provider Nextreaming have integrated their technologies on RMI's AU1250 chip to enable CMMB mobile TV services on personal media players (PMPs). Optimized for RMI’s Alchemy Au1250 Processor and Au1300 Processor families, the partners hope to reduce time to market for device makers.

NexTV for CMMB follows Nextreaming’s mobile TV clients for T-DMB, S-DMB, 1-seg (ISDB-T), DVB-T and DVB-H. An embedded application that supports digital broadcast viewing on a mobile device, NexTV includes optimized H.264 and HE AAC/BSAC decoders and image-processing routines that enable processing of up to 30 frames of CIF/QVGA video per second under the constraints of CPU power and memory. NexTV is designed to fit various CDM/OFDM chips and multimedia processors and supports CMMB channels encrypted with Nagravision’s Conditional Access System (CAS) and China Mobile’s Mobile Broadcast Business Management System (MBBMS).
