Medéa Corp.'s VideoRaid RTR and VideoRaid RTRX disk arrays have been qualified by NewTek for use with the company's new Video Toaster, a Windows 2000-based live video production environment. NewTek cited VideoRaid's reliability and ability to protect content during a disk-drive failure.
VideoRaid RTR and VideoRaid RTRX are designed for digital content creation applications such as 2D/3D animation, compositing, special effects, game development and non-linear video editing. The RTR family features an Ultra160 SCSI interface that enables the desktop models to sustain a data transfer rate of up to 130 MBps. The dual-channel, rack-mountable models sustain over 200 MBps, enough to support 10-bit, 1080i HD capture and playback.
The disk arrays also provide RAID data protection.
