Network Electronics Takes Expanded VikinX Line to IBC2006

Among other new gear, Network Electronics will roll out new 256 X 256 VikinX routers at IBC this year.

The new models the VD256256L and HD256256L have fully hot-swappable module cards, built-in dual redundant power supply and fully redundant control architecture and controller functions.

IBC will also mark the European introduction of VikinX Sublime, Network's second generation of compact small and medium routing switchers. The Sublime SL-3GHD line, which supports 3 Gbps 1080p single-link HD, will also be on hand. In conjunction with VikinX Sublime, Network will demonstrate the SL-D32P, a-32 port configurable data router for machine control routing in broadcast facilities. VikinX System Configurator, developed to configure complex routing solutions, will be displayed as well

The Norwegian router maker will debut a full range of multimode fiber modules for HD-SDI and Gigabit Ethernet transport. This new Flashlink product line includes 16 Course Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM)and 2-channel Wavelength Division Multiplexing devices with data rates up to 622 Mbps

Other equipment from the Network line on hand at IBC will include Flashlink Micro for enabling standalone Flashlink applications; the GYDA System Controller and the SDI-TD-MUS-4/SDI-TD-DMUX-4 muxer/demuxer; and an L-band electrical-to-optical and vice versa interface, the LB-EO/OE, all supporting Flashlink functions.
