nCUBE Corp. is adding real-time Network Personal Video Recording (nPVR) to its suite of VOD management tools. The nPVR application allows operators to capture and stream live programming in real time. Consumers have DVD-like control over live programs soon after the program's start.
For those operators currently using nCUBE's n4X and n4 servers, a software upgrade is usually all that is required to incorporate the live nPVR. In addition, the application works with the session and resource management (SRM) capabilities of systems in nCUBE's nABLE on-demand management platform. A single nCUBE 4X on-demand server can stream live or store, approximately one month of programming for up to 200 networks, and stream to up to 50,000 customers simultaneously.
