Leitch released a lower-cost model of its VelocityQ multistream nonlinear editing system, VelocityQ 2x4, featuring the Velocity software interface and Quattrus multistream real-time hardware. Both models feature playback of four streams of video, compressed or uncompressed, and up to six graphics streams.

The VelocityQ 4x4 features Q3DX4 quad-channel 3D effects, while the 2x4 model features dual-channel 3D DVE. The 4x4 includes a rackmountable audio/video breakout box, but I/O connections to the 2x4 are provided through the included breakout cable, with the breakout box available as an option. Additionally, VelocityQ 2x4 is available as a boardset-and-software bundle for installation into a Windows 2000 or XP workstation.
