HaiVision Network Video is launching a new compact encoder with advanced features including HiLo Streaming, which generates multiple stream resolutions from a single source.
The Barracuda, to be introduced at InfoComm 09, provides flexible low-latency SD encoding that addresses a wide array of IP video users in a small footprint. It’s compatible with industry-standard set-top boxes and integrates smoothly with HaiVision's Video Furnace System 5 for end-to-end H.264 IP video delivery.

With less than 70 ms of encoding latency, as well as forward error correction (FEC) and encryption capabilities, it’s aimed at real-time and mission-critical applications.
When used with HaiVision's Video Furnace System 5, it enables affordable encoding and distribution of live video to computers and set-top boxes, creation of scheduled playback channels for enterprise TV and signage, and recording of content and delivery of video on demand.
The Barracuda's encoding versatility lets users to distribute end-to-end IP video to virtually any platform.
Barracuda will be on display at HaiVision's booth (#2979) at InfoComm 09, June 17-19 in Orlando.
At the 2009 NAB Show, HaiVision introduced Makito, an encoding platform for end-to-end delivery in formats up to 1080p60.
