Dalet transcodes with Rhozet

Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder video transcoding solution is now being implemented by Dalet Digital Media Systems for use in a range of file-based asset management and broadcast solutions. The integration is currently deployed at The Press Association, the national news agency for the United Kingdom and Ireland, for efficient production and management of video packages, which are distributed to affiliates via The Press Association's Web portal.

Video journalists in the field edit video using their laptops and upload finished packages to headquarters using a customized store-and-forward video hub application developed using Rhozet video transcoding technology. Because transcoding and publishing functions are handled behind-the-scenes, journalists can focus their attention on content creation.

Harmonic's Rhozet Carbon Coder is a universal transcoding application that facilitates the transfer of media between a variety of platforms, including acquisition, editing, playout, archive, the Internet and mobile devices. The codec can run as a standalone application or as part of a multinode, fully-automated rendering farm.
