Brick House, Let It Wave to Demonstrate Conversion Tech at IBC

Brick House Video, a U.K.-based developer of production switchers, is partnering with French-based Let It Wave to demonstrate Let It Wave's new upconversion process at IBC2006.

Brick House's new 1 RU Syntax HD up/crossconverter uses Let It Wave's FPGA that provides super-resolution bandlet algorithms, providing the performance advantages of motion-compensated processing without the disadvantages of high cost and occasional severe artifacts.

"We are delighted to bring an advanced and affordable upconverter to market that we believe betters the quality found in the high-priced units," stated Paul Hiorns, managing director of Brick House Video. "Syntax was developed specifically with Let It Wave's FPGA bandlet technology, and is being offered at an extremely attractive price. We have performed extensive trials in conjunction with prominent end users, and it does a fantastic job--a genuine case of 'seeing is believing'." The price for Syntax is approximately $10,000.

"Thanks to Brick House Video's experience in high-end broadcast products, Syntax fully takes advantage of the ultimate quality provided by Let It Wave's up/crossconversion FPGA," said Stéphane Mallat, CEO of Let It Wave.

The first units of Syntax are expected to deliver in October.
