Canopus has brought out EDIUS HD and ADVC110. EDIUS HD is the company’s new HD editing workstation. It offers mixed realtime HD/SD editing and includes Canopus EDIUS Pro realtime HD editing software, HD and HQ software codecs and the HDRX-E1 HD-SDI/SDI input and output card. ADVC110 is a portable, external, bi-directional analog/digital video converter for Windows and Mac OS-based computers. It features FireWire bus-powered operation and audio-only conversion capabilities. It connects VHS, Hi8, and other analog video equipment to DV cameras, decks, and editing systems.

Echolab:Nova1700

At IBC2004, Echolab unveiled the Nova1700 digital video switcher, one of the world’s first broadcast-standard switchers to have its base platform developed primarily around single chip technology. The switcher’s engine is a single Xilinx Virtex-II Pro, which is feature driven through proprietary software developed by Echolab. The chassis is 4RU with a rack depth of 7.2 inches and weighs approximately eight pounds.

Digidesign has announced DigiDelivery, a digital file delivery application. Based on RocketDelivery and RocketServer technology, it features a choice of two Ethernet-connected server appliances, the Digidesign Serv|LT, which suits small- to medium-sized facilities and stores 20 pending deliveries (up to 80GB total), and the Digidesign Serv|GT, which has higher data throughput and can store an unlimited number of deliveries (up to 500GB total). Both systems feature 128-bit encryption and can deliver any kind of file anywhere in the world.

LEIGHTRONIX:TCD/IP Switcher Control Option

LEIGHTRONIX has made available a new routing switcher control option that links the TCD/IP network-managed video system controller with KRAMER single bus and matrix routing switchers that use Protocol 2000. Panasonic: AJ-SD93

Panasonic has introduced the AJ-SD93, a multi-format digital VTR suitable for standard definition IEEE-1394-based editing applications. It is one of the first VTRs below $7,000 to facilitate 4:2:2-quality video transfers at 50Mbps over IEEE-1394 to nonlinear editing systems. It features 48kHz, 16-bit, 4-channel digital audio and optional analog and SDI inputs and outputs and can record on medium or large DVCPRO cassettes with a maximum record time of 184 minutes (92 minutes in DVCPRO50).

Solid State LogicUpgrades To C100

Solid State Logic has developed new software upgrades for its C100 digital broadcast console. V1.5 software incorporates a new DSP redundancy system for self-healing capabilities; a new remote bay option that allows the console processing to be split across two control surfaces, providing additional flexibility in situations with restricted space or where two distinct control sections are required; and enhanced networking and integration capability, including third-party router integration.

Tektronix:WVR7100 Rasterizer

Tektronix has announced its new WVR7100 rasterizer. With the WVR7100, HD, standard definition, and composite analog signals, as well as digital and analog audio, can be all monitored from one instrument. The system also features the FlexVu display, which allows customers to uniquely configure their instrument to display waveform, vector, gamut, picture, alarm screens, error log, and audio signal levels and lissajous in four different tiles.

Videotek, a division of Leitch Technology, has debuted its VTM-310G. Designed for serial digital facilities, it provides two serial digital 525/625 (601) passive looping inputs and Videotek’s intuitive Digital Gamut and relative timing displays.
