Inlet Establishes Asia-Pacific Presence with Addition of Doug Triblehorn as Regional Vice President

Inlet Sales Expansion to Bring High-Quality Live Streaming to One of the Fastest-Growing International Markets

RALEIGH, NC – JANUARY 22, 2009 – Inlet Technologies, the leader in advanced encoding solutions for new media, further expands its global footprint with the announcement of Doug Triblehorn as Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific. Triblehorn is tasked with developing and managing all reseller and direct sales activities within the Asia-Pacific region to support the company’s goal of bringing the highest-quality live streaming and transcoding solutions to a larger international audience.

A recent report from ABI Research shows that online media activities within the Asia-Pacific region will deliver at least $6.5 billion in annual revenues by the end of 2013. With a superior broadband infrastructure in place, this rapidly growing region is very well-equipped to distribute content over IP networks for applications such as video-on-demand, mobile, and live event broadcasts.

“Broadcasters worldwide recognize that the younger generation is becoming one of the largest segments of addressable spenders and will continue to be for years to come – and they’re not watching television in the traditional way,” said Triblehorn. “Broadcasters and programmers are responding by creating a complementary model that captures new audience share without depreciating their bread-and-butter traditional viewing audience.”

Many organizations are faced with the challenge of digitally archiving and further monetizing huge libraries of content using IP networks and new formats. Inlet’s expansion into Asia-Pacific will help bring new solutions across the region, affording these types of organizations the opportunity to monetize and distribute their content in ways they never could before.

As part of this effort, Inlet has already signed a number of Asia-Pacific resellers, including RAHUL COMMERCE, an India-based software and system distributor specializing in film and video, post production, streaming, and transcoding technologies; Digital Media Technology Co., Ltd. (DMT), founded in Hong Kong in 1990, specializing in professional audio/video solutions for radio and television broadcasting, television, film and music recording, and post-production Internet broadcasting; Korea-based Koitech, founded in 1998 as an IT service provider and specializing in consulting, solutions, system, and network services in the broadcasting and cable markets; and Sanshin Electronics Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s leading video solution providers with over fifty years experience shooting, editing, and BD-ROM authoring for traditional broadcast and over IP.

Doug Triblehorn joins Inlet as a 20 year veteran of the broadcasting industry with extensive international experience. Most recently, Doug served as Vice President at Genesis Networks, where he led the expansion of the company’s sales and operations into the Asia Pacific region and signed notable contracts with marquee customers, including Fox Sports Australia. He served as Vice President of Sales with End II End Communications, a developer of enterprise solutions for wireless networks, and Vice President, Asia Pacific, for Intelsat, the world’s largest satellite company, where he developed regional strategies and drove sales for its Media and Entertainment Division. Prior, Doug spent nearly 15 years with the GlobeCast Group, during which time he helped grow the company into the largest satellite and fiber-based broadcast transmission services company in the world.

“Doug has a strong track record of helping companies expand their services and products overseas,” said Neal Page, CEO, Inlet. “In his new position at Inlet, we expect he will bring the same kind of dedication and impact as we increase our focus on international business and enter new markets.”
