This position is responsible for all television station activities concerned with FCC Technical Regulations; installation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of studio, transmitter, microwave, and IT equipment; building site infrastructure, quality control of technical parameters, and oversees the MC Supervisor. Excellent mix of computer knowledge both digital and analog electronics such as UHF/VHF transmitters, receivers, antennas and other broadcasting equipment, ability to multi-task, work long hours, and to respond in a timely “on-call” capacity. An associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; three to five years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent of both. Under the direction of the Dean, the assignment for the full-service week will be to teach any and all broadcasting courses offered by the department including (but not limited to) multi-camera and single camera television production and survey/history of broadcasting and electronic media. The ideal candidate would also possess the background to teach (or has taught) courses in the survey of world cinema and survey of American cinema. Although the assignment is initially at the Rancho Campus, transfers to Fontana or Chino may be possible per contract and need. The Fox Broadcast Center located in Los Angeles, CA on the Fox Studios lot is responsible for the broadcast of over 5500 live events per year in addition to providing other program origination, post production and studio services to a wide array of networks. The Broadcast Systems Design Engineering Team is responsible for designing a wide range of HD & SD video systems as well as analog/AES audio design into the existing plant systems. We are seeking talent well versed in the design and build out of HD / SD video and audio systems, RF, computer and networking technologies and automation control systems. Engineering Talent must have 7+ years of detailed experience in systems integration, digital transition, defining scope of project and developing timeline plans and budgets. The capability to create and communicate high-level conceptual designs utilizing AutoCAD, create and deliver detailed drawings for installation crews which meet SMPTE standards as well as FOX drawing standards. Must have strong staff management and communication skills, superior analytical and reasoning skills, project management, technical documentation and customer service skills; proficiency in AutoCAD required. We are looking for a Director of Broadcast and Production Operations and Engineering to join our team in NASCAR Media Group’s Charlotte office. This position will be responsible for managing a team of Broadcast Engineers, overseeing maintenance, problem-solving, and special projects.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Develop and implement proper organizational procedures and engineering schedules. • Television and feature studio and remote production. • Oversee project management of special projects • Define the future of NASCAR Media Group’s broadcast technology architecture
Required skills/experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. • 10 years experience in Broadcast Operations Management. • Direct management experience required. • File based workflow experience. • Membership in a professional association such as Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers or National Association of Broadcasters, etc. • Approximately 20 % travel required including some weekends.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, be a creative problem solver, have the ability to multitask, and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be well organized with attention to detail and be flexible while managing shifting priorities.
