Maine Stations Prep for Analog Shutdown

Fourteen TV stations in Maine will shut down analog signals for a minute on Monday evening to see who notices. The DTV transition test run will be conducted at 6:28 p.m. local time, first on Monday, again on the following Wednesday, and at least two more times on Dec. 17 and Jan. 20.

During their 6 p.m. programming, the following participating stations will run information about the tests and the impending shutdown:
WABI-TV, WLBZ-TV and WVII-TV in Bangor;
WCSH-TV, WPFO-TV, WMTW-TV and WGME-TV in and near Portland;
WAGM-TV and WMEM-TV in Presque Isle;
five public broadcasters…
WCBB-TV in Augusta;
WMEA-TV in Biddeford;
WMEB-TV in Orono; and
WMED-TV in Calais.

WPME-TV and WPXT-TV in Portland will also promote tests, though both have already ceased broadcasting analog signals.

A full-screen graphic of the toll-free hotline number will run during the tests.
