GoTV taps Ortiva Wireless for content shaping technology
Looking to improve the viewing and listening experience of its on-demand programming, mobile television network GoTV has begun transitioning portions of its mobile video service to Ortiva Wireless’ Mobile Content Delivery Network (Mobile-CDN).
Ortiva's Mobile-CDN is based on what it calls content shaping, which improves a user's viewing experience by adapting video or audio streams, in real time, based on the individual viewer's changing network conditions. By delivering dynamically shaped content to each subscriber, GoTV can enhance the subscriber experience and ensure that its investment in high-quality programming is not lost through the noise and changing conditions of the cellular network. The Mobile-CDN also eliminates the need for GoTV to deploy any additional equipment, and provides a high degree of management for insertion of additional targeted content.
