Belo Television Group chooses Neural MultiMerge DTV audio processing
By TVTechnology published
Belo has purchased Neural Audio’s DTV 5.1 audio processing package for its television stations. The package includes Neural’s MultiMerge and Neural Surround DownMix mix-edit system.
MultiMerge was selected for its ease of use and stability. The system detects and manages stereo and 5.1 audio with no knobs or settings. MultiMerge utilizes a detector core to resolve 2.0 and 5.1 content image changes and performs upmixing when needed. In addition, the upmix algorithm operates in the frequency domain, which guarantees image stability and fewer artifacts in consumer surround speakers at home.
The purchase was prompted by Belo’s commitment to HD and 5.1 surround sound. The products will be installed at the company’s stations in Austin, TX; Houston; Charlotte, NC; San Antonio; Seattle; Spokane, WA; Phoenix and St. Louis.
