YouTube Content Available on Sony Bravia HDTVs

Sony announced this week that purchasers of its Bravia TVs can now access content from online video provider YouTube through its Bravia Internet Video Link service.

Access to the free service, launched this week, is available on Sony’s 2007 and 2008 Bravia LCD flat panel TV sets. The Link is provided via a small $300 module that attaches to the back of the sets, bypassing the need of a PC; Sony recommends a broadband link of at least 2.5 Mbps. Content can be navigated via Sony’s Xross Media Bar browser.

YouTube joins Wired.com and C-Spot as content providers for the Bravis Internet Video Link, which was announced at CEA 2007. Other channels include content from Yahoo!, AOL and Sports Illustrated.
