Verizon to build video hub in western New York

The company will use the new video hub office in Erie County, NY, to launch FiOS TV service in western New York late next year.

Verizon plans to establish a video hub office in Erie County, in the western portion of New York, to distribute Verizon's FiOS TV service to the area by late next year, the company said last week.

Verizon will begin construction on the video hub facility and expects to start offering FiOS TV service in parts of Erie County late next year.

To date, Verizon has secured video franchises in 62 New York communities in the downstate areas of Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, and in Westchester and Rockland counties north of New York City.
