The VISION scholarship is sponsored by VCI Solutions, with the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) selecting recipients. Mitchell will receive $1,500 to help pay for her studies during the 2009-2010 school year.

“We are very delighted to have VCI Solutions as a new BEA member as well as scholarship sponsor,” said Heather Birks, BEA executive director. “The opportunities to further promote education and experience is critical to the success of our industry going forward. It has been a pleasure to work with VCI Solutions and we are looking forward to our awards ceremony in April, where all of our scholarship recipients will be recognized in an awards ceremony.”

VCI Solutions President and CEO Sarah Foss said that the VISION scholarship had been established as part of the company’s commitment to the broadcasting business and the people serving in that industry.

“Sponsoring this scholarship is one more way that we are able to contribute to the future of broadcasting and cable operations,” Foss said. “We are confident that this scholarship is not only deserving but will make a difference in the future of broadcasting.”

BEA’s scholarship committee has named 15 scholarship recipients at 14 schools this year. The awards will be made in a ceremony on April 23 as part of BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas, which is held in conjunction with NAB and RTNDA activities there.
