TVB Tech Alert: $400 25-inch 1080p TV Bowed

IRVINE, CA.: A Southern California company called “Hannspree North America” is rolling out a 25-inch, 1080p HDTV. The ST251MKB LCD set is among the company’s first line of “mainstream digital TVs” in what it’s calling its “ST series,” each sporting a six-foot HDMI cable, analog input and a universal remote.
The line features 16:9 screens, 10,000:1 contrast and ATSC/NTSC and Clear QAM tuners. The STs are being marketed as PC monitors as well as TV sets. The 25-inch model has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $399.99. Larger models are on deck for later in the year. The line will be exclusively available at Costco.com
