Tribune Combines South Florida TV/Newspaper Operations

published Tribune is shaving costs by putting its South Florida newspaper and TV operations in the same facility under the same management. WSFL-TV, the Miami CW affiliate, will move in with the Ft. Lauderdale offices of the Sun-Sentinel. Howard Greenberg, president of the newspaper and interim publisher of the Orlando Sentinel.
The plan is for the newspaper to feed content to the TV station under the assumption that readers and viewers won’t notice.
The Los Angeles Times, also owned by Tribune, reports that a similar arrangement could be in store for it and KTLA-TV, the city’s CW affiliate.
