Tribune Broadcasting Gets New COO
By TVTechnology published
CHICAGO: Tribune Broadcasting today announced the appointment of Jerry Kersting as its new chief operating officer, effective immediately. Kersting joined Tribune as executive vice president in April 2008. He will work Tribune Broadcasting President Ed Wilson to oversee day-to-day operations of Tribune’s 23 TV stations, its radio operation and the WBN cable network.
Kersting’s appointment will enable Wilson, also Tribune’s chief revenue officer, to focus on financial matters.
As executive vice president, Kersting had been responsible for identifying strategic opportunities and efficiencies for the company’s print, broadcast and online media businesses. Before joining Tribune, Kersting served as chief financial officer for the radio division of Clear Channel Communications.
