Tom McGowan, broadcast industry veteran and longtime Quantel employee has rejoined the company as its CEO for North America.
McGowan first joined Quantel in 1982 as a district sales manager and was originally with the company for 18 years. He has also held positions with Pinnacle Systems and ParkerVision. Prior to rejoining Quantel, McGowan was Avid Technologies' director of broadcast sales operations for midwest and mountain states and national accounts.
McGowan has more than 30 years experience in broadcast engineering and in post-production technology sales.

McGowan will divide his time between California and the North American Quantel headquarters in Vienna, Va. He is an active participant in industry affairs, including the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Technical EMMY Committee. McGowan is also a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
