Thailand ITV orders Advent SNG vehicle

Advent Communications with Philips Digital Video Systems in Thailand has received an order for C-band digital satellite news gathering system from Siam Infotainment (ITV), a new UHF television station in Thailand.

The centerpiece of the Mercedes Benz 412 Sprinter van will be the Advent Lynx 2000 C-band linear polarized antenna with fully redundant transmission chain. Advent will convert the vehicle and carry out system integration and testing. The vehicle also will be equipped with Philips’ latest EZcast portable MPEG-2/DVB digital compression equipment, CryptoWork conditional access system, QPSK modulator and commercial IRD.

A motorized Lynx antenna will be integrated into the system as well as an associated antenna controller to provide user-friendly fast and slow motor control of azimuth, elevation and polarization axes as well as automatic stow and deploy functions.

The system also calls for a two-way communications system between the vehicle and the ITV headquarters in Bangkok. The vehicle conversion includes an onboard generator, UPS and high capacity roof-mounted air-conditioner.
