TANDBERG Television highlights HD SNG, E5740 Voyager

At IBC2003, TANDBERG Television displayed its most recent developments for the satellite outdoor broadcast (OB) market.

TANDBERG Television demonstrated three products:

  • The company's first-ever HD DSNG encoder and IRD;
  • A 1 RU L-Band DSNG unit capable of being upgraded to 8 PSK and 16 QAM;
  • The addition of IP interfacing on the Vocality communications option.

With its ability to encode at multiple profiles in both standard and high definition modes, the new 2 RU E5784 HD DSNG encoder can be deployed within HD DSNG systems that require either L-band or IF modulation output capabilities.

Designed for both mobile and fixed applications, the E5784 offers top performance video and satellite transmission with its built-in QPSK modulation and allows upgrades to higher order schemes of 8PSK and 16QAM.

Meanwhile, TANDBERG Television has partnered with U.K.-based Vocality International to create a mobile satellite system.

The addition of the Vocality V100 multiplexer card to the E5740 allows video uplink and two-way communications capability combined into a compact 2 RU package, minimizing size and weight for ease of use in the field.

TANDBERG's E5740 Voyager DSNG encoder with integrated IP and SNG communication capability also made its European debut. The addition of the Vocality V100 multiplexer card to the E5740 allows video uplink and two-way communications capability combined into a compact 2 RU package, minimizing size and weight for ease of use in the field.

Supporting both IF and L-Band interfaces, the E5740 Voyager can interface with a wide range of RF systems available as third party products from TANDBERG Television business partners. The unit allows for bandwidth-efficient IP carriage over an MPEG/DVB infrastructure.
