SUVs Go Upscale with Satellite TV, Internet Access
By TVTechnology published
Becker Automotive Design, a luxury SUV conversion firm, will soon furnish SUV limos with a mobile office that includes satellite TV and high-speed Internet access.
Calif.-based Becker will use KVH Industries' TracVision L3 satellite TV and TracNet Mobile High-speed Internet systems to bring these features to their customers. The L3 is an automated, in-motion antenna that delivers satellite TV and audio from DirecTV, Dish Network or other DVB-compatible satellite systems.
The Internet system is two-way and receives downloads up to 400 kbps via KVH's DirecPC satellite service. Becker's other customization options include GPS navigation systems, LCD video screens and armor to protect both drivers and passengers.
