Conway Recording has upgraded its studios with the Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series SuperAnalogue console. The 80-channel XL will address mixing projects and handle everything from stereo to surround. The XL features fast automation, integral surround capabilities and built-in interface for Pro Tools.
The XL 9000 K Series SuperAnalogue console includes a 4-channel compressor, stereo bus master level controls, user defined options and an Oscillator, which can be assignable to multitrack, main mix and ABCD stereo bus outputs. Pictured: Studio owner Buddy Brundo. Photo by Edward Colver.
The console includes a master fader and left/right or front/back stereo panning. Its Dual Automation Moving Fader System can be switched between motors on and off at any stage during the mix process. Users can have direct control of the ATR/VTR machines via Sony 9- protocol. It also includes a 4-channel compressor, stereo bus master level controls, user defined options and an Oscillator, which can be assignable to multitrack, main mix and ABCD stereo bus outputs.
Studio B, part of Conway’s 48,000-square-foot campus, features a 25-foot by 20-foot control room and a small isolation booth for over-dubs or voice-overs. Conway is outfitting the room for 5.1 monitoring.
