Sonifex MD to Run for Charity

Marcus Brooke, MD for U.K.-based audio equipment manufacturer Sonifex, is running two races for a charity to raise money for a new Children's Hospital in Oxford, U.K. The projected is slated to be complete by January 2007. Currently, 7.7 million GBP ($13.5 million U.S.) have been raised. They need 15 million GBP ($26.3 million U.S.).

Brooke is running in honor is his daughter who needed open heart surgery and was admitted to the main hospital. She has made a nearly full recovery.

The Great North Run is a half marathon in Newcastle on Sept. 18 and the Great South Run is a 10-mile run in Portsmouth on Oct. 9, 2005.
