Singapore: StarHub Commits to HD
By TVTechnology published
Pay TV platform StarHub will make Singapore the first country in Southeast Asia to launch HD beyond a trial basis. The launch follows StarHub HD trials that kicked off with last summer's World Cup and ended last month.
The test run included about 1,000 StarHub Digital Cable "trialists," who were provided all 64 World Cup matches (along with added content from Discovery HD and National Geographic HD), according to the company.
StarHub is encouraging its HD subs to invest in some type of Dolby Digital home theater system in order to tap into the 5.1 channel surround sound that is featured with most of StarHub's programs.
