Second Annual HPA Awards Scheduled for November
The Second Annual HPA Awards will be presented Nov. 1, 2007, during a gala evening event at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, according to the Hollywood Post Alliance. The HPA Awards acknowledge creative and technical excellence in the art, science and craft of post production.
The 2007 HPA Awards will recognize excellence in categories including color grading, editing, audio post production and compositing. The HPA will again bestow special awards recognizing the Outstanding Contribution to Advancing the Field of Post Production and the Engineering Excellence Award.
The HPA Awards were launched last year to highlight the contributions of the talented men and women of the post-production industry, the ones who are a pivotal part of the "magic of Hollywood."
HPA President Leon Silverman said, "The response to the 2006 premiere of the HPA Awards was overwhelming and demonstrated the need to celebrate the important creative contributions of the post production community. For too long our work has been hidden in those darkened rooms of post. The HPA Awards were designed to help illuminate, honor and raise awareness of the significant role we play in the creative process."
