SBE Seeks 'Strength in Numbers'

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has kicked off its annual membership drive and is dangling a chance to win some prizes to help encourage signups.
Its grand prize is a Sony HDTV and a trip to the national meeting in Verona, N.Y., later this year. Other prizes include a Panasonic Blu-Ray Player, Eton E1XM AM/FM/Shortwave/XM Ready Radios, Pocket Size External Hard Drive, books, shirts and tweaking tools from various sponsors.
Members also receive a $5 discount on a 2010 membership renewal for each new member he or she recruits, up to five.
SBE is the professional organization of radio and television engineers and those in related fields. Current membership is around 5,700 in 112 chapters in the United States. There are members in 20 other countries.
