SAMMA partners with MWA Nova for automated film transfer

MWA Nova and Front Porch Digital have integrated former’s flashtransfer digital telecine with the latter’s SAMMA Solo to provide access to news and other film libraries. The combined solution will be shown at NAB2009.

Flashtransfer uses frame CCDs to scan 16mm or 35mm film in SD at play speeds of 5-25fps. SAMMA Solo captures technical metadata of the film file as it is created and can hand off up to seven different video files to the DIVArchive product, where content-based metadata can be associated with the new files. This technical and content-based metadata information is use when the content is accessed for reuse.
