Raycom Media’s Dave Folsom presents local HD lessons

Speaking last week in Orlando, FL, at the Competitive Television Summit, Dave Folsom, VP and CTO of Raycom Media, drew on his experience and that of his broadcast group to shed some light on what’s required to launch HD on a local level.

Folsom should know. Last year, Raycom Media transitioned the local newscasts of a dozen of its stations to HD. Toward the end of his presentation, Folsom offered his “HDTV Top 10,” a list of lessons learned firsthand from doing HD.

This week, Folsom discusses the first five lessons on his list. Next week, he concludes by covering the last five.
