Pixelmetrix: Singapore's First Emmy

Preventive Monitoring manufacturer Pixelmetrix started the new year with an Emmy win. The company received an Engineering & Technology Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for its DVStation Transport Stream Analysis products. The award was presented in early January at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas.

The award defines the automated compliance testing to the multi-channel transport stream standards as defined by the DVB and ATSC. Pixelmetrix DVStation provides automatic confidence-checking and reporting functionality without the need for an operator to verify program transport quality by visual QC or other manual measurement methods. The DVStations are deployed to monitor MPEG transport streams and measure parameters against standardized conformance specifications.

"We are thrilled to receive this honour from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This distinction reflects positively on Pixelmetrix as the first Singapore company to be accorded the Engineering & Technology Emmy Award. Our DVStation product line has turned in a strong showing over the years, and this esteemed recognition certainly adds prestige to our myriad of Test & Measurement solutions for DTV and IPTV networks worldwide," said Danny Wilson, Pixelmetrix President & CEO, who was on stage to receive the award. "(For sure) this award justified all the late night pizza," he joked.

Said Mr Lim Chin Siang, Director, IT & Technology, the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), "This prestigious recognition of Pixelmetrix, a recipient of MDA's Digital Technology Development Scheme (DTDS), reflects the growing recognition of Singapore-made cutting-edge technologies on the international scene. We will continue to work closely with, and support the industry in the development of original and innovative products or concepts for the region and beyond."
