Panasonic Takes VariCam HD on the Road

Panasonic will take its AJ-HDC27 VariCam high-definition camcorder on a national tour, offering a series of educational workshops-called "VariCamps"-on shooting and production with a variable-frame-rate camera.

The VariCamps will begin and end in Los Angeles, with stops in New York, Chicago and Washington. The tour is scheduled to begin on July 27 and will end Jan. 24, 2004. The workshops will be led by experienced cinematographers and promise significant hands-on time with the Panasonic AJ-HDC27 VariCam.

The sessions are organized by HD Expo Workshops and sponsored by Panasonic. The AJ-HDC27 VariCam is a variable-frame-rate camcorder that can be set to capture images from four to 60 frames per second, storing images on a built-in DVCPRO HD recorder.
