Broadcasters, telecom professionals and others with an interest will have an opportunity next month to learn about a variety of important topics shaping the direction of the IPTV market during NAB2008.

In addition to a new IPTV Pavilion, where the latest IPTV technologies and services will be highlighted, NAB2008 will offer a substantial IPTV conference lineup April 14-17. Some of the scheduled panels include:

  • The Business of IPTV: A daylong examination of real-world IPTV deployments, customer expectations, negotiating content deals, billing systems, VOD, set-top box trends, video security and a variety of other topics.
  • IPTV – It’s About the Content: Nine hours of panels discussing development of relevant content packages, designing and building production facilities, partnering with local broadcasters, top-tier programming, niche programming and several other topics.
  • Telecom Technology Papers Parts I & II: Paper topics include Ethernet, Network Convergence, IP Signaling, HD and Broadband Networks, and much more.
  • The Telecom Crash Course: A half-day session devoted to making money from social networking, why IPTV and IMS are critical to a successful business plan and how the elections in the fall will impact the telecom industry.

The NAB2008 IPTV conference is being co-produced by NAB and Team Lightbulb. The IPTV Pavilion is the joint production of Broadcast Engineering and Telephony magazines.
