NAB2006: Hitachi to Debut Compact HD Cam

Hitachi (Booth C3926) will introduce the DK-H31S at NAB2006, its latest compact HD camera built for shooting from the air, for sports production, within robotic systems, and for "high-end surveillance applications" (CIA, take note). The two-piece DK-H31S provides full resolution in 1080i or 720p by using 2/3-inch CCDs.

Hitachi also plans to introduce a new series of RF license-free transmission systems for transporting video over TCP/IP networks. The Sinelink series is designed for broadcasters and facility managers who need to transmit digital signals wirelessly where physical and/or environmental obstructions exist.

Hitachi said its TU-CX-Z4 Digital Triax for SD systems offers uncompressed digital transmission of audio-video between camera and CCU (camera control unit) and provides digital returns and intercom.
