With the demand growing for its Advent Satellite Product Offering, Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) announced the signing of a contract and ongoing VAR agreement with Globecomm Systems. Globecomm is a leading systems integrator of transportable VSAT products.
The initial contract includes an unspecified quantity of Advent Mantis 1.9m & 2.4m Antenna Systems. Globecomm will integrate these antenna systems with RF electronics under their Explorer Product Line. The completed system products support voice, video and data transport for an undisclosed US Government user. The VAR Agreement between the two companies positions MRC to open new market channels where Globecomm already has competitive positions.
The Mantis is extremely lightweight and rapidly deployable. Benefits of the Mantis Antenna Line include quad band capability (Ku, C, X, Ka), feed cartridges with field interchangeability that can be used in conjunction with one another, as well as a superior lightweight carbon fiber design.
"MRC has received extremely positive reviews from our customers based on the proficiency, deploy-ability and transportability of these large, lightweight antenna systems," stated Tony Finizio, president of MRC.
There are currently over 100 Mantis Antenna Systems being utilized by various US Government Agencies worldwide. MRC provides the sales and service of the Advent Communications line throughout the US.
