MOG presents MXF advances at NAB

At NAB (Booth SU5722) MOG, a provider of Media eXchange Format (MXF)-based solutions will demonstrate its mxfSPEEDRAIL ingest system, designed to speed up the post-production process. It’s available in two different versions — F1000 and S1000.

The mxfSPEEDRAIL F1000 package is a file-based ingest solution that moves MXF media (video, audio and metadata) from any location seamlessly into an Avid Unity ISIS or MediaNetwork or any other media shared storage.

Turning ingest operations into facility teamwork, it provides a single solution for ingesting material from various devices and locations in multiple formats, with integrated monitoring, configuration and control, allowing an easy interaction with media asset managers and automation systems.

The mxfSPEEDRAIL S1000 is a multiresolution SDI capture solution supporting a variety of formats, including Avid DNxHD, Panasonic DVCPRO HD, Sony XDCAM, Sony XDCAM HD and Avid MPEG-2 Proxy. It includes multiformat recording that allows the generation of multiple resolutions simultaneously and directly into an Avid Unity ISIS, Avid MediaNetwork and any other media shared storage.

Also shown will be improvements to the company’s Toboggan MediaTransfer software, which streamlines the ingest of file-based content into post-production systems. Through the automation of the ingest process, Toboggan MediaTransfer eliminates the multiple steps that are required by a video editor initiated workflow, allowing you to move all your MXF files into Avid environments and share their content for a maximum productivity.

MOG is also releasing extensions to both the MXF::SDK with the new development package called MXF::SDK Modules and MXFComponentSuite extensions that provide support for the new essence types of AVC-I (MPEG-4), DNxHD (VC3) and audio AIFF plus the ability for developers to wrap their own private Data Streams along with MXF.
