Media 100--a unit of Optibase--recently hired Steve Bayes as its new director of product marketing.
He will oversee the introduction of the 10-bit HD and SD editing system, Media 100 HD, new versions of the 844/x real-time editing/compositing tool as well as future Media 100 products for Mac and PC.
Bayes comes to Media 100 as a digital NLE expert with eight years as an Avid product designer for Media Composer, Symphony and DS Nitris systems. He trained editors while at Avid, and is the author of "The Avid Handbook."
"He has single-handedly trained generations of editors through his educational teaching and coursework," said Amir Goren, general manager of Media 100.
Prior being recruited to Avid as a trainer in 1993, Bayes worked as in online tape editor for Videocraft Productions in New England.
