Martin to Appoint New Chief for Media Bureau

A new chief of the Mass Media Bureau is on tap at the FCC.

Chairman Kevin Martin intends to appoint Monica Shah Desai. Shah Desai has led the Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau for two years and has worked at the commission since 1999 in several capacities. Current Chief Donna Gregg will become senior policy advisor for the U.S. representative to the World Radiocommunication Conference.

Also, the chairman plans to appoint Helen Domenici as International Bureau chief. For five years, she has served at the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House as assistant director for telecommunications and information technology.
