Keslow TV supplies Ikegami HD cameras to its sports clients

New York-based Keslow Television (KTV), an equipment rental company, now offers Ikegami’s HDK-79EC HD cameras as part of its portable live sports production packages.

The camera’s ability to acquire images in multiple HD formats was important for KTV, because it provides equipment to a wide variety of productions. The camera can operate in 1080/60i, 1080/24p or 720/60p as well as high-speed dual-link 1080/60p, 1080/50i and 720/50p — and, for super slow motion, 1080/120i and 720/120p.

KTV provided some of its clients with flayaway equipment packages for use during the Olympics in Beijing. Although this year’s events were all shot in HD, there are still many distribution outlets that require feeds in SD, both in PAL and NTSC. With its 2/3in 2.5-megapixel 1920 x 1080 CMOS imaging sensors, the HDK-79EC supplies HD and SD signals simultaneously.

Broadcast Systems & Equipment, based in Canada, is one of KTV’s clients at the Olympics. The company built a state-of-the-art broadcast center in Pangu Plaza overlooking the Olympic stadium and aquatics center. From there, they are providing multiple studios, control rooms and MCR facilities for non-rights holders covering the games. Their facility is operating around the clock and serving clients from around the world in HD and SD, PAL and NTSC. Because they are supplying content to a variety of users, their camera of choice was the HDK-79EC.
