The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) has created the new Interactive Television Council (iTVC) to promote the development and deployment of iTV technologies and services. The council is comprised of a consortium of companies that work in the development of iTV and enhanced television equipment, and the group will give members a venue for discussing issues of common interest.
The ITAA President said market research predicts that iTV services will reach 36 million U.S. households by the end 2005, and that the ITAA wants to help members of the ITC bring "the digital revolution to the American people."
The founding members of the council are:
* Canal+ Technologies Inc.
* Concurrent Computer Corp.
* MetaTV Inc.
* Microsoft Corp.
* SONICblue Inc.
