HDTV technical seminars on tour

Linear Acoustic, Omneon Video Networks and Miranda Technologies have teamed up to present a series of educational seminars for broadcasters making the move from SD to HD. The traveling road show is the second series sponsored by the three broadcast equipment suppliers.

The first 2006 seminar took place Feb. 28 in New York City. The next seminar takes place today during CABSAT at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The seminar program focuses on a variety of topics, including the drivers for HD from consumers and broadcasters; video and audio formats for HD; signal distribution, routing, conversion, editing, servers and master control; and a look at some successful HD implementation case studies.

The all-day seminars are hosted by senior engineers from Linear Acoustic, Omneon and Miranda, as well as by leading broadcasters. Technology demonstrations associated with core themes also are being offered at the end of each seminar.
