The number of installed HDTV monitors in the United States will grow to 74 million by 2010, according to new research from JupiterResearch.
The figure, which is projected to increase from the 13 million installed HDTV monitors in 2004, is one of the findings in the research company’s "U.S. DTV Forecast, 2005-2010" report.
According to the forecast, 69 million U.S. households will receive HDTV programming by 2010, up from 4 million at the end of last year.
The report also focused on digital video recorder use. It projects that households using digital video recorders will increase to 55 million by 2010, up from 7 million at the end of 2004. It also predicts that 47 percent of U.S. households will use DVRs within five years.
