Harris showcases Videotek compact monitor series at IBC

Harris introduced a new Videotek Compact Monitor series for testing signal integrity across all DTV broadcast signal formats up to 3Gb/s at IBC in Amsterdam last week.

In a half-rack, energy-saving design and less than 7in deep, the Compact Monitors are well-suited for today’s space-conscious, flat-panel broadcast and production environments. The series includes the CMN-41, a rasterizer that requires an external monitor; and the CMN-91, a multiformat signal analyzer with a built-in LCD display.

Both models can be used in portable or rackmount configurations, with the CMN-91 ideal for field and mobile video production thanks to options such as a portable case and mounting brackets for most Li-Ion batteries.

The monitors allow the viewing of waveforms of composite or trilevel external sync references to verify signal integrity. Both models are available in three upgradeable versions — SD, HD/SD, and 3Gb/s HD/SD — with two active-looping SDI inputs and metering of 16 embedded audio channels or one AES audio input.

The CMN-91 also features a diagonal transflective color TFT display that lets operators independently position and scale waveform, vector, and thumbnail pictures anywhere on the screen.
