Harris Marketing HDTV in Cincinnati
By TVTechnology published
Harris Corp. has joined several Cincinnati-based TV stations to launch a seven-week TV marketing "DTV Zone" campaign to increase public awareness and understanding of DTV. The announcement coincided with inaugural broadcasts by the last two Cincinnati stations to make the DTV transition, WCET and WSTR.
Representatives from WKRC, WLWT, WCPO, WXIX, WCET and WSTR, the NAB, CinyTechUSA and Harris began the campaign with a press conference and demonstration of HDTV. The Mayor declared Dec. 16 as "Cincinnati Digital TV Zone Day."
The partnership is using an NAB TV ad, "Time Marches On," in their efforts to educate viewers. The ad focuses on how TV has evolved from the first broadcast of a TV signal up through DTV.
