Esther Dyson, an industry observer and chairman of EDventure Holdings, will present the keynote address at SIGGRAPH 2001, to be held July 21-26 in San Antonio, Texas.
Dyson is an active investor and writer who frequently comments on the state of the industry. She focuses on emerging technologies and business models and emerging markets and companies. EDventure Holdings publishes the monthly technology-industry newsletter, "Release 1.0," and sponsors two of the industry's annual conferences. She also writes a fortnightly column for the New York Times syndicate, "Release 3.0." In 1997 Dyson wrote a book on the impact of the Net on individuals' lives, Release 2.0: A Design for Living in the Digital Age.
