DVEO to Introduce HD Maestro at IBC2004

DVEO--the pro-broadcast division of San Diego-based CMI--will demo its new encoding workstation, new multiplexers and an updated input card at IBC2004 this month in Amsterdam.

Based on Dell's Power Edge 7150 Server, HD Maestro encodes MPEG-2 streams of 50 Mbps at HD resolutions. The workstation has over 250 GB of high-speed storage with high-speed Gigabit I/0.

The HDMaestro is based on LSI Logic's HD encoding solution, the HDTVxpress Compressor, based on the LSI Logic DoMiNo network media processor.

The MuxMaster will also be showcased at IBC. It is an MPEG transport stream multiplexer subsystem based on PC architecture, designed to enable multiplexing of four separate single or multi-program transport steams into a single multi-program transport system. Inputs and outputs are DVB ASI of 100 Mbps.

The MuxMaster PCI is an FPGA card-based solution for OEM's. The other form is the Quad/Mux Workstation, a 2RU rack-mount workstation. Both version run under the Linux OS.

The latest version of the DVB Master Quad/i input card will also be unveiled at IBC. The Quad/i is a four port DVB ASI PCI 2.2 interface card that features hardware-based automatic package size detection, PID filtering and Packet Arrival Timestamping on each port. The Quad/i combines the functionality of four DVEO Master III PCI cards into one board. It can receive four separate streams, from four separate sources with each port offering selectable channels.

DVEO will be in Booth 4.355 at IBC2004, Sept. 10-14. For more information, visit http://www.ibc.org/.
