Digital Vision unveils new BitLink Professional HDTV Decoder

The BitLink Professional HDTV Decoder from Digital Vision gives cable, satellite and terrestrial operators, a flexible way to transit to the DTV Market.

The BitLink Professional HDTV Decoder decodes up to two channels in a 1RU frame.

It supports extensive decoding and system modes making it ideally suitable for use in ATSC/DVB contribution and professional network monitoring applications. Video decoding formats cover interlaced and progressive HDTV formats as well as SDTV both for 50Hz and 60Hz systems. Both digital and analog video outputs are available. The BitLink Professional Decoder is composed of a 1RU rack-mounted, forced-air cooled frame.

The decoder was designed with modularity as a key criteria. This modularity facilitates easy adaptation to a number of different decoding/DTV applications. The I/O modules provide extensive choices in terms of transport stream interfaces, including 8/QPSK, ASI, analog or digital video outputs, digital and analog audio outputs and video reference input. All transport stream interfaces, except for the 8/QPSK demodulator, also provides independent outputs that can be routed from any available input module. The decoder can be used for format conversions, e.g. from QPSK to ASI. If equipped with two decoding modules, either two separate programs can be decoded simultaneously, or the same program can be decoded by both modules, one producing an HD version, the other a down-converted SD version or vice versa.

Other features include:

  • MPEG-2 MP@HL and MP@ML
  • Decodes up to two channels in a 1RU frame
