Digital Video Expo Offers Free Access

PASADENA, CALIF.: NewBay Media’s upcoming Digital Video Expo will offer a daily schedule of free educational special events open to all attendees, the company announced today.Digital Video Expo, focusing on HD content creation and distribution, will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center Sept. 22-24.

A complimentary Digital Video Expo Exhibit Hall pass can be obtained by registering online at www.dvexpo.com before Wednesday, Sept. 9. It covers free access to the following sessions and special events:

Lighting Master Class, led by veteran director of photography George Spiro Dibie, ASC. Each will feature different top cinematographers, who will show clips from favorite projects and then discuss how the lighting was accomplished. They will then take questions from the audience at hand.

Last year’s Master Class events were standing-room only, with contributions from the American Society of Cinematographers, including Allen Daviau (“ET,” “The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Bugsy”), Owen Roizman (“Network,” “The Exorcist”), Daniel Pearl (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Pathfinder”) and ASC President Michael Goi.

Secrets to Developing Your Career in Digital Content Creation with Jessica Sitomer, who has worked in the entertainment industry for 18 years as a writer, an independent producer, a development associate, a director and an actress. For 12 of those years she was a career coach for entertainment industry professionals. Within that period she served for seven years as the in-house career coach for the International Cinematographers Guild Local 600. In January of 2008, Sitomer launched her own business, The Greenlight Coach, offering one-year program covering business tools, interviews and creating career breakthroughs. During her Expo keynote address, Sitomer will discuss these and other career-enhancing strategies.

Going Green in Video Production will consider the environmental impact of the production industry, from purchasing supplies to the energy required to run a production business. Digital Video Expo is being joined by Reel Green Media, to explore the environmental impact of the business and the latest mitigating technologies.
