Cleveland TV station streams newscasts to iPhone

WJW-TV, Cleveland, Ohio’s Fox outlet, told its viewers it is now streaming its Fox 8 news to Apple’s iPhone. The station is one of the first in the country to deliver the free live news streams over AT&T’s 3G network or a WiFi connection to the popular mobile smartphone.

Every newscast and local program streamed live on fox8.com is now available on Apple’s iPhone.

There's no app to download. Viewers click on the Safari browser and go to mobile.fox8.com. They then choose live video from a link at the top of the page. The signal can be received anytime the station is broadcasting.

The service is available for iPhone and iPod Touch users now, and is not currently available on other brands of mobile smartphones.
